Students with disabilities are suspended at a disproportionately higher rate than their non-disabled peers. Recent NYS data shows that for all students with disabilities, 1 in 10 will face at least 1 suspension over the course of their education? Do you know what steps to take if your child is faced with the possibility of suspension? 

This workshop will cover: 
- Laws and policies for short term and long term suspension. 
- Your right to request a conference, fair trail, and review of the suspension decision. 
- NYS laws and policies that protect your child's access to education in the event of suspension. 
- Your Child's rights if an incident was caused by a manifestation of their disability or result of an IEP not being implemented.

We, The Poughkeepsie Run Team—comprising the City of Poughkeepsie Youth Softball/Baseball League, As One Flight, LLC, and the City of Poughkeepsie Youth Division—are excited to introduce the inaugural PK 5K Run! This event is dedicated to promoting health and wellness in our community, with a special focus on supporting the mental and physical well-being of our youth.

BluePath's ninth annual Walkathon will raise funds in support of our mission - to provide autism service dogs, offering safety, companionship and opportunities for independence. Our expertly trained dogs work alongside parents and caregivers to prevent wandering and keep children safe. Your participation in the Walkathon helps to ensure we can continue to better the world for children with autism and their families.  

Day of Information:

BluePath's Walkathon will be held at FDR State Park - Lot 4 (2957 Crompond Rd | Yorktown Heights, New York 10598).

10am: Registration opens!

10:30am: We officially kick off the 9th Annual Walkathon - One and Three Mile options available.

10:45am - 1:00pm - Activities and fun for all, including DJ John Hannah's Mobile Music Services, On The Spot Photos, Bouncy Houses from G.S. Bounce, Bubble Bus, Backyard Sports, and more!

*The "BluePath Breakroom" will be available throughout the event; this is a quiet tent with comfortable seating, books, and fidget toys, designed to provide a break from the hubbub of the event.

Enjoy lunch from awesome food trucks including A La Mode Ice Cream, The Grille Wagon and Taco Road Trip.
