Think Ahead Information Session for Prospective Students and Families
When: Tuesday, March 5th | 6:00pm - 7:30pm Where: Dutchess Community College - Dutchess Hall, Room 101
In order to take advantage of the program the individual must:
- Have OPWDD eligibility and be enrolled in the Home & Community Based Services Medicaid waiver;
- Be a Dutchess County resident;
- Have graduated from, or left high school;
- Have a life plan (and/or IEP) with the most recent vocational evaluation, such as school-to-work or pre-vocational assessment and DDP2 form.
You are a good fit for the Think Ahead program, if you are:
- Seeking skills to prepare for gainful employment;
- At least 18 years old;
- Living at home, independently or in a certified setting;
- Able to arrange transportation to DCC’s Poughkeepsie campus;
- Willing to attend program 5 days/ week for two years to engage in work experiences or audit credit bearing classes, and attend 9 hours/week of Think Ahead classes;
- Independent on campus with staff present.
