Town of Wappinger Little League Challenger Division

Bettina Briccetti, an avid softball player, couldn’t accept that a family friend couldn’t play baseball because of his disability.  She decided to change the world, or at least her little corner of it, and in September 2005, the then 13 year old started the Wappingers Challenger League.
Challenger Baseball is a division of Town of Wappingers Little League for all children with intellectual and physical disabilities to be able to play our national pastime.  Our state of the art field, a completely flat rubberized surface, insures even those with mobility issues, can play baseball like their siblings!  Our motto is EVERYONE CAN PLAY!

The Wappingers Challenger league enlists the help of buddies, local teens, who help the players with every aspect of the game.  Parents get to enjoy watching and cheering their child.  We play the game to each players abilities.  Every player gets a uniform shirt, hat and end of season trophy. We play on the weekends each Spring and Fall.
