Topfield Equestrian Center- Adaptive Riding Program
Topfield’s Adaptive/Therapeutic Riding program can benefit individuals living with various physical, psychological, and developmental disabilities as well as anyone looking for a non-competitive form of horseback riding in a very supportive environment. While the physical benefits, such as motor coordination, balance and muscle tone, achieved from adaptive riding are numerous, the emotional and social benefits are also far reaching. Group sessions are specifically designed to provide opportunities for participants to practice cooperation, listening skills, language skills, patience, and empathy. Participants build independence, create long lasting friendships, and develop a sense of belonging and self-confidence through mounted activities.
