The Verplanck Garden Club – Special Needs Garden

Since 1989 the The Verplanck Garden Clubat the Stony Kill Farm in Wappingers Falls, NY has been maintaining and offering raised beds for gardeners with physical disabilities. This program began as a place for veterans from Castle Point Veteran’s Administration hospital to come to the farm and create their own gardens. Over time, the Verplanck Garden Club dedicated the raised beds to also include people with special needs. These raised gardening beds are available each year at a fee for communal gardening through their email and website.
