The Arc Community League is a Chapter of the NYSARC, Inc. (formerly the NYS Association for Retarded Children). Since its conception in 1952, The Arc Community League has played an advocacy role for consumers who had resided on the Wassaic Developmental Center campus and their families. With the onset of community-based housing, The Arc Community League currently provides Medicaid Service Coordination and Supplemental Group Day Habilitation Programs and still continues its involvement with consumers residing in the Taconic DDSO catchment area through events of a community inclusion nature.
The guiding principles developed by our founders remain the focal point of our objective today. In keeping with the The Arc Community League mission, it is our intention to enhance our services to intellectual and developmentally disabled individuals living in IRAs, at home, in family care and supportive apartments.
