Cardinal Hayes Home
Cardinal Hayes Home has one hundred ten developmentally disabled young people residing in its Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs). The main campus in Millbrook, NY is home for sixty children and young adults. The six one-story residences and the living space in the main building are all accessible. The agency’s five Community ICFs are in various areas of Dutchess County; ten disabled young people live in each of these homes. There is 24-hour care and supervision of the residents at every agency site.
Hayes Day School (Cardinal Hayes School for Special Children) is a not-for-profit day school serving students who are multi-handicapped. Affiliated with Cardinal Hayes Home for Children, the school provides special education programs for many of the children who reside at the Home and also accepts special needs children residing in the community who are referred by their school districts. Committees on Special Education of area school districts are invited to consider Cardinal Hayes School as placement for students with severe intellectual disabilities.
